A local woman is headed down to Charleston, West Virginia to represent Ohio in the Mrs. International Pageant.
Teri Grothaus won the title of Mrs. Ohio International 2017 and will be competing for the Mrs. International title. Grothaus says that she has been preparing for the pageant, practicing her interview skills and promoting her platform for Refuge International. But mostly, Grothaus is ready to meet all of the women who are also competing.
"It is so exciting to be able to go out there and compete; there are 64 women competing in this pageant, and they're from not just the United States, but from all over the world, so women from Australia, Sweden, Asia, so I'm really excited about the different cultures and meeting a lot of different women," Grothaus said.
Grothaus left Sunday morning for West Virginia for the week-long event.
