Cairo girl sells lemonade to help classmates

Ten year old AubreeAwna Hall is looking to help out her fellow Bath Elementary students with a lemonade stand set up right outside her house in Cairo.  So far, she's been fairly successful - not only with making money to go out and buy school supplies, but also collecting some supplies at her stand as well.

AubreeAwna says that she noticed some students needed some help with school supplies and wanted to lend a helping hand.

"I saw a lot of kids in my class who didn't have school supplies, and I saw how the teachers had to buy them with their own money, and a lot of kids just couldn't help it, they just couldn't afford it, so I just wanted to help those kids," AubreeAwna said.

She also is hopeful that the donated supplies will make a difference in some students' lives.

"I really like school, and I hope that other kids can start to like school after they get all of the supplies that they need," said AubreeAwna.  "Each time I collect a little money, I think just how good the kids are going to feel once they get all the school supplies they need."

The lemonade stand will also be up at AubreeAwna's house on Main Street in Cairo the weekend of the 12th, along with a backpack giveaway at Cairo Park on August 20th.
