Lima detectives tell us they are working on some leads after receiving some tips regarding Thursday's shooting.

Steve Stechschulte is telling us 25-year-old Michael Davis was taken to the Mercy Health System in Toledo after getting treatment at St. Rita's Medical Center instead of being taken to Columbus, but Davis is still in critical condition.

At around 6:30 p.m Thursday, Lima Police Department found Davis lying on the sidewalk in front of an apartment in the 400 block of North Metcalf Street, with multiple gun shot wounds to his torso. The suspect is described as a taller black male wearing all dark clothing and a mask and was last seen running in an east to northeasterly direction. At this time, Stechschulte says they are not releasing any more information until they can talk to Davis.

"Our hope is that he will be fine and we'll be able to speak to him about the incident. We have had a little bit of conversation with him so he himself so he may be able to give us some further information in reference to who would of done this to him. We're also following up some leads with the technology crimes unit and some other physical evidence that we've got from the scene," says Stechschulte.

The incident is still under investigation, but if you have any information about the shooting you can call Detective Stechschulte at (419) 221-5181.
