We are learning more details on a Thursday fatal fire in Delphos.

The Delphos Fire Department says they believe there were other residents in the home when the fire broke out. They are saying it's still early in the investigation so the cause of the fire is still undetermined. The Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office was called out for help and they continue to investigate what happened. The fire broke out just before midnight at 9145 Mericle Road where a two story house was on fire down a long lane, north of U.S. 30.

We're told one person was killed in the blaze, but no identity of the victim has been released yet. Firefighters and equipment were called in from Ottoville, Fort Jennings, and American Township. Firefighters spent several hours on the scene and were sent out again later Friday morning when the fire rekindled.

According to the Allen County Auditor's Office, the home belongs to Daniel Osting.
