As students head back to college this fall, keeping an eye on what they eat goes right along with keeping up on their studying.

While the "Freshman 15" weight gain is feared by students, research suggests that it's mainly a myth, though students do tend to gain weight during and after college.   This could be from being stressed about being away from home and classes and over-snacking.  Luckily, there are ways to avoid gaining a significant amount of weight while at school.

"Personally, I would recommend that you look at the nutritional labels and you may think that something is a really healthy item, but look at the serving size," said Phil Wagner, General Manager of the Lima Memorial Food and Nutrition.  "If you're sitting at a desk just doing computer work, snack on something healthy like vegetables."

Physical activity is also suggested to keep students' weight in check.
