Congressman Jim Jordan spoke out about the president's deal with democrats to raise the debt ceiling.

House Resolution 601 was signed into law Saturday by the president. More than $15 billion in aid funding will be disbursed for hurricanes Harvey and Irma, but the same law will also raise the debt ceiling.

This knocks out Congress' end-of-September deadlines to raise the debt limit and avoid risking default on U.S. Debt.

"I don't think this was a good deal for the American taxpayer. We didn't do anything to address the underlying $20 trillion debt problem. But frankly, what options did the president have in front of him? the first time the Republican Conference talked about the debt ceiling was Wednesday morning," said Congressman Jordan Sunday.

Jordan along with 5 other republican congressman from Ohio voted against the bill, which passed Friday with a 316-to-90 vote.
