Officials from all over the state celebrated the opening of the third Recleim facility in the nation right here in Beantown Tuesday morning. It'll bring more than a hundred jobs to the area - something job experts say will likely create a ripple effect.

"As we fully develop the plant we'll create about 150 jobs for the community. As was mentioned that's equivalent to about a 4 million dollar a year payroll," said Steve Bush, CEO, Recleim.

"For every job created here at Recleim, there's two to three spin-off jobs also in the economy in terms of suppliers, consultants, retail operations - all those wonderful things. So thing great manufacturing enterprise will be the hub of a lot of other activity," said Gary F. Thompson, CPA, COO, Regional Growth Partners - Northwest Ohio.

With a partnership with AEP Ohio, customers can call for appliance pick -up and walk-in customers drop off at the East Fourth Street location. It's one of the only companies in the country with the technology to break down and recycle used appliance materials ultimately benefiting the environment.

"We're collecting about 45,000 refrigerators a year and properly destroying those. We're preventing ozone-depleting substances and greenhouse gases from being released into the atmosphere," said Bush.

It's been nearly two year of preparation getting things in order. As for an official welcome to the city, Bush says he's been greeted with lots of Lima love.

"Midwestern hospitality is on full display which we appreciate. Most of us are from the South. We think southern hospitality is good to share as well. We feel very welcome here," said Bush at the grand opening celebration Tuesday.

Within the coming months Recleim will be entering into its next phase of hiring.
