Halloween is right around the corner, but just how much are Americans spending on the spook-tacular holiday?

Meijer Store Director Mark Campbell says they're ready and all stocked up to help Halloween shoppers find everything they need for the spooky night and he says they're seeing more and more families excited about Halloween shopping. 

"We have everything but the customer would want for Halloween, which is a very big holiday, one of the biggest party holidays of the year. Decor is currently up about 40% so with the nice weather it’s obvious that people are really gearing up for a big holiday. This year there’s always a big push right before Halloween so I do encourage people for the booth selection to come in early and shop we have a huge selection," says Campbell.

The National Retail Federation says around 179 million Americans will be celebrating Halloween this year and they'll also be spending more.

"Not only or more people celebrating but they’re also spending more consumers are expected to spend $86 on average for Halloween, up from last year‘s $83," says Katherine Cullen, NRF. 

So I guess you could even says some shoppers are dying to celebrate the fang-tastic night.

"This is my favorite time of the year and she’s a Halloween baby so we’re just going wild with this year," says Allison Garcia, shopper.

 "We're just kind of looking at some costume for the kids looking for some pumpkins different decorations for outside things for the kids," says Jennifer Jameson, shopper. 

The NRF says consumers will spend will spending around $9.1 billion on things like costumes, candy and decorations this year.

"I am out here trying to get candy for the kids you know when they come by my husband likes to dress up as an old man to kind of scare them but they enjoy it they come back year after year, you know," says Rose Barry, shopper.
