The Auglaize County Educational Service Center gave students a chance Thursday morning to learn more about their options for the future.

The Ohio Coalition for the Education of the Children with Disabilities developed the "It's my Turn" training, which helped students with disabilities learn more about career opportunities and other choices as they move on to adulthood. Those that ran the training say it's important for the students to learn that they can make their own decisions when choosing a career.

"We want them to be happy with the choices that they're making and when they get up in the morning they're excited to go to their job because it's what they really want to do, it's not just another one of the jobs available," said Sandy Brickner, Information Specialist for the Ohio Coalition for the Education of the Children with Disabilities.

"This is important that they get to really decide what are they going to do, have a chance to try things, and say maybe they liked that, maybe they didn't, and figure out what they would like to do for the future, not what somebody else wants them to do, but what they want to do," said Cindy Oliver, Intervention Specialist for the Auglaize County Educational Service Center.

32 students participated in the training.
