ALTRUSA International's Lima Chapter brought the community together for tea and treats.

Around 120 people showed up to the first ever Harvest Tea. Attendees were treated to a variety of pastries and beverages. The money raised from the tea will go towards funding scholarships and projects around the area like the Historical Walking Tour of Downtown Lima, available through the library. The organizers say the tea was so popular that more tables had to be set up to accommodate the overflow. Members of ALTRUSA say the success for their first tea comes from the group working together.

"She's done a beautiful job with her committee and the whole club has just joined together," says Barbara Barry, ALTRUSA International Chapter President.

"And everybody pitched in and helped and it's just been remarkable," says Linda Washington, Event Chairman.

Barry says they plan to make the tea an annual event after seeing how successful the tea was this year.
