In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, many people are finding themselves without many of their possessions or even their homes with all of the damage that the hurricane brought to Texas.  Because many people are struggling to get life back to normal after the storm, Lima Central Catholic decided to put together a fundraiser for people that were affected by Hurricane Harvey.

What started out as an idea from a student quickly became a full on event, with different activities for people to enjoy after giving a donation.  The students of LCC were a big part of bringing it all together and helping the event run smoothly.

"We have other student groups here such as National Honor Society, Student Senate, and Students in Action Club are also helping, so all of the students have really kind of joined forces and are all banding together to help maximize how we can help raise money for hurricane victims," said Stephanie Williams, LCC Principal.

And even the students that were just there to support the cause were helping to make sure people in need could get a little extra support.

"We like to see our students get involved in a lot of the things we do around the school, it kind of shows that we care about it, not just the parents, and that really helps the community involvement as well because the kids can bring their friends, not just from LCC, but from other schools like Shawnee and Elida and Bath," said Cecilia Riepenhoff, Student Body President of LCC.  "We kind of have a diverse amount of kids that come from every county in every school district so that helps a lot; one thing we really like to do at LCC is that we like to help out other people that are less fortunate than us."
