As we get closer and closer to voting day, many are stepping up and supporting their candidate and local unions announced their support for Mayor David Berger's re-election bid.

Representatives from the United Steel Workers, United Food and Commercial Workers, and Laborers International held a news conference to announce their endorsement for Mayor Berger. President for Local 624 of the United Steel Workers, Mike Edelbrock says they are supporting Mayor Berger for his commitment to protect Lima workers and for his help in saving what is now the Husky Refinery and all his good work in the community.

"Not only that but when we went on strike in 2012, Mayor Berger was the only one that called us. I didn't get a call from Senator Brown who assisted us too. Mayor Berger worked behind the scenes to try and help avoid that strike or to get it sorted out. We have a lot to thank him fore with the closure issue and when we went on strike, I just hope that we can get him back and I think the Lima Refinery is a shining example, instead of having a vacant lot you have a multi-billion dollar company producing wages and taxes and stuff for the community," says Edelbrock.
