If you aren't going to be able to make it to the polls this coming Election Day, you have the option to send in an absentee ballot.

Absentee voting began October 11th throughout the State of Ohio and will continue up to Election Day on November 7th. There are a number of ways to vote early, including visiting the Board of Elections office for an absentee ballot - but if you're unable to make it to the office, there are a few other options:

"They can ask for a form and we can send it, they can print a form offline from their own registration on our website, or go to the Secretary of State's site and print off an absentee application form," said Kathy Meyer, director of the Allen County Board of Election.  "They can mail it to us, but remember that takes extra time, then we can mail the ballot wherever they want."

The Allen County Board of Elections will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the next three weeks leading up to Election Day. Their office is located at 204 North Main Street in Lima.
