about 30 people did just that in the Lima YMCA’s first ever Pumpkin Run.
The weather was perfect for you and your pumpkin to take a nice run down the Ottawa River Path.
Yep you read that right, about 30 people did just that in the Lima YMCA’s first ever Pumpkin Run. With fall temperatures coming eventually and winter just around the corner, today’s event was a great chance for people to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Participants could choose to run either a 1K or 5K route and while the run the had the option to carry a pumpkin with them.
"Our Aquatics Director gave me the idea, when I was talking to her a couple of months ago. She said that ‘I went to the this run and they held pumpkins while they ran.’ I said “O my gosh that so cool to we should do that.’ says Melissa Fry, Organizer Pumpkin 5k/1k. "So I really just wanted to have a free event at the Y, that was something fun to do as a family."
Before the race, kids had a chance to decorate the pumpkin they got to carry while their run.
