A parade was put on in Allen County Saturday, but not the kind you are used to seeing.

It was a Parade of Homes, as Custom Homes by Brad Gossard and Quality Management opened eight unoccupied houses in Lima and Bluffton to the public. All of the homes were newly built 2017 and the final houses of the season for the two companies. The parade is a way to get the public in to admire their work, but the companies used it as a way to help those in need as well. Every house was turned into a "Toys for Tots" donation station, collecting money and unopened toys to be donated to the "Toys for Tots" program.

"We wanted to help them out in a big way, so what we did was we made each one of the parade homes a drop off location for the Toys for Tots," says Brad Gossard, owner of Custom Homes by Brad Gossard. "So anyone that comes out, we encourage you to bring a new, unopened gift to drop off at one of the boxes. We're also giving away free hot dogs and soda outside, leave a donation if you'd like. So, bring the kids a toy for the holidays."

The Parade of Homes continues on Sunday 12-5 P.M. The Lima addresses are: 4019 Brookshore Drive, 5200 Lopez Drive, 6499 Mickelson Lane, and Sorenstam Lane. Address for Bluffton are: 205 Parkview , 110 Parkview, and 111 Parkview.
