Pancakes were the food of choice for people in Lima Saturday.

The Lima Noon Sertoma hosted their 61st annual Pancake Day at Lima Senior High School. The annual event is the Sertoma's biggest fundraiser. Thousands come out to enjoy good food and to donate to a cause. On Pancake Day the group sells over 19,000 pancakes and 1,600 pounds of sausage. The Sertoma have been hosting the event since 1957 and say it's become a tradition for many families.

"It's tradition, I think, for a lot of people," says Lima Noon Sertoma Vice President and Pancake Day Chairperson Adah Ellerbrock. "They say they've been coming every year and then they're having generation after generation come back again and again, so they enjoy it. It's something to have, it's nice, warm food in their belly as winter is just getting ready to get started."

Money raised from the Pancake Day goes to fund summer speech and hearing programs and the Faurot Park shelter house, as well as other non-profit causes.
