Tornado clean up continues in Celina

Clean up efforts continue in Celina in the wake of a tornado that damaged several local businesses and homes. Some of the city is still left without power.

"One of the constraints that we have up front is because of insurance adjusters coming in," Celina Mayor Jeff Hazel said. " They haven't wanted a lot of folks to do much cleanup or move anything around until they got pictures, measurements and they got a sense of the overall damage. A lot of that has occurred by now."

Mayor Jeff Hazel said that about 90 percent of the community is back with power. Downed power lines over railroad tracks caused the most trouble, but have now been cleared for crews to restore power to those areas. Hazel praised the community in their efforts to step up in wake of a loss or tragedy, specifically, a number of Celina High School athletic teams who helped clean up efforts by picking up debris on Monday.
