Putnam County will be changing the location of their 24 hour recycling drop off point starting next month.

On December 1st, the location will change from the current location at Wal-Mart to the county's Ag complex at 1205 East Second Street in Ottawa, where the recycling program is contained.  County officials say that keeping the safe, 24 hour recycling option available to the county was important, espeically with how willing citizens are with getting their recyclables taken care of properly.

"When we started this program a few years ago, the EPA set a minimum for us - they wanted 25% for resident recycling, and our statistics show that we’re doing 56%, and for industrial they wanted us to be at 65% and we’re at 99% - so that’s over all over 94% recycling, that is excellent," said John Love, commissioner of Putnam County.

Weekly recycling pickup in Putnam County will continue as normal.
