What better way to learn, than hands on? That's exactly what the first graders at Liberty Arts Magnet school did.

The Science Enhancement for Science Advancement Program came into Liberty Arts Magnet to teach first graders about weather and lights. The classes have been learning about weather all year and now got to conduct several weather experiments. The students were able to tie their experiments into other subjects as well, learning that weather affects the lives of plants.

"So today they're going to see a lot more and have more hands on," First grade teacher, Mary Moore, said. "So they are really excited about this because they get to actually experiment. I don't have the equipment in my classroom to be able to hold a cloud in their hands. So when they get to do that today, it's going to be really exciting for them,"

Our  own Chief Meteorologist, Jason Mikell, will be at Liberty Arts Magnet on Friday, to continue teaching the children all things weather.
