A referee was arrested and jailed when a gun he was carrying went off at Bath High School Wednesday night.

The Allen County Sheriff's Office say it happened around 7 p.m. during a local basketball officials meeting inside the high school cafeteria, when a handgun inside 49-year-old Garry Tabler Jr.'s coat pocket accidentally fired. Bath School officials told parents about what happened. No one was hurt. Tabler is being charged with possession of a gun in a school. Detectives say they don't believe there was any criminal intent. Deputies say he had a valid conceal-carry permit.

A grand jury will now take up the case.
