The Kiwanis Club of Delphos hosted their annual Delphos Hometown Christmas.

People lined the streets to see the parade featuring police and fire trucks, and dozens of Christmas helpers. The Grinch and Buddy the Elf both made appearances but the real guests of honor were Santa and Mrs. Claus. The night also featured a Christmas train and horse and wagon rides for families, as well as face painting and more popular winter characters for kids to meet. Cindy Metzger with the Delphos Kiwanis says the night is a special event for both the Kiwanis and the community.

"For the Kiwanis, it's kind of our cap off of the year of activities and fundraisers and events," says Metzger. "It's our way of giving back to the community. It's a way for everybody to come together, thank the smiles on people's faces and just get together and have a good time, and bring in the holidays."

Afterwards, Santa and Mrs. Claus lit up their Christmas tree and opened their doors for kids to meet St. Nick. Metzger estimates around 250 kids got the chance to tell Santa what is on their wish lists for 2017.
