An Indiana man is behind bars after allegedly leading the Rockford Police Department on a high speed chase across the state line.

According to the Rockford chief of police, at 10 a.m. Thursday morning, one of his officers was making contact with 29-year-old Nathan Newsom of Fort Wayne. He was slumped over the wheel of his car at a local business, when Newsom took off and allegedly led officers on a chase with speeds reaching over 90 miles an hour across the Indiana state line. Newsom was able to avoid the stop sticks that were deployed during the chase.

He finally stopped his car in Decatur, Indiana where he was arrested and police say drugs and criminal tools were found his car. Newsom will be extradited back to Ohio to face felony charges.
