Your Hometown Stations told you about a massive fight at the Neubrecht Road Waffle House Tuesday (12/26/2017) morning. Now, local officials are speaking out on the altercation.

"One thing that brought us all to total disgust was that there should never be a time when a man puts his hands on a woman, never," says Dr. Dennis Ward, President of the Lima Area Black Ministerial Alliance.

The altercation occurred around 3 a.m., when a group of mostly women were involved in a fight inside the restaurant. Ward says the L.A.B.M.A. is disgusted particularly by the actions of one male individual, and that the whole community needs to be more proactive in preventing violence among youths and women.

"This is not a black or white issue, this is a human issue and it starts at home," says Ward. "The training of a child, how do you act, how do you treat a young lady. Again, all of these things start at home. What we saw in that video was just total disgust. This should not have been, but that's hindsight and we have to be able to come up with solutions.

The Allen County Sheriff's Office was also upset by what they saw in the  video. Sheriff Matt Triglia says they are determined to be more proactive following the incident.

"We're going to investigate this to the fullest extent," says Triglia. "We're not going to tolerate these incidents in the county. I'm going to put some extra patrols in the areas. I can't imagine a family in there trying to eat dinner and have to go through this, so it's very disturbing to be and the administration here, and we're going to do everything we can to stop this."

The Sheriff's Office is looking to speak with Decorion Haneef Dawson in order to determine his involvement. People with contact information or who knows his whereabouts are asked to call the Allen County Sheriff's Office at (419)227-3535 or Crime Stoppers (419)229-STOP (7867).
