Sheriff's office releases name of shooting victim found at laundromat

According to the sheriff's office, 26-year-old Nathan Jelks was shot in his lower half of his body and found at the Colonial Laundromat around 9 p.m. Tuesday night. The Allen County Sheriff's Office has released more information about victim of gunshot found at a North Cole Street business.

According to the sheriff's office, 26-year-old Nathan Jelks was shot in his lower half of his body and found at the Colonial Laundromat around 9 p.m. Tuesday night. Jelks was taken to Mercy Health St. Rita's for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Detectives say he is not cooperating with the investigation. Even though Jelks says that he was shot in the area of the laundromat, detectives believe he was shot an undisclosed location and dropped off at the laundromat by someone associated to him. If anyone has information about what happened to Jelks, they are asked to call the Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at 419-993-1422.
