An Allen County court was recertified last month by the Ohio Supreme Court.

Allen County has had a drug court for the last 15 years. In 2014 the Ohio Supreme Court recognized the amount of drug courts in Ohio and created a standard for these courts. The certification happens every three years and certifies these courts comply with regulation. The court is for low level nonviolent drug crimes and instead of the offender reporting to authorities they meet with Judge Jeffrey Reed. He said it holds the offender accountable for their rehabilitation.

"Our success rate has been great," Reed said. "In terms of people who graduate from the drug court and mental health court, we're having about an 80% success where they're not reoffending, after they go through this program."

Reed said he meets once a week with drug court participants.
