The work to bring mental illness and addiction out of the shadows continues in the Lima region.

Coffee at Coleman is an informal way of coming together to better understand what services are available to address barriers their clients are facing.

"Certainly the opiate epidemic is always on everybody's mind, but also issues of chronic mental illness has sustained people in the community so they can responsibly work their recovery but also live appropriately and support their families in the community," said Nelson Burns, CEO of Coleman Professional Services.

The Coffee at Coleman being held at the Union Square apartment building on East Elm Street. It was built and opened several years ago to provide permanent housing for those dealing with mental illness and addictions. Nelson says the complex is doing what it was intended to do, as the apartments are full and residents are receiving the services they need.
