It builds upon a child's sense of wonder and encourages them to explore the great outdoors.

"Growing Up Wild" is a teaching tool for educators to engage kids age 3 to 7 in activities about nature. The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District offered a free workshop for teachers, day care providers, parents, and organizations on Friday. They were able to experience several of the interactive activities from the curriculum. A representative from Shawnee Elmwood Elementary School says "Growing Up Wild" will be beneficial for students and the new nature trail located at the school.
