City officials want to remind residents to move vehicles for plows

Officials, once again, want to remind residents and business owners that they are responsible to remove snow and ice off of their sidewalks. Officials, once again, want to remind residents and business owners that they are responsible to remove snow and ice off of their sidewalks.

With the recent snow events and more snow in the forecast, Lima City officials want to remind residents about a few winter housekeeping items.

Crews are out working to clear the streets of the snow and productivity can be hindered by cars that are parked and not being moved. City ordinance states that a vehicle parked along the road must be moved within 48 hours. In winter weather they are asking residents to move them sooner so plows can get through. It's a safety issue not only for the public but for first responders as well. So if you have a vehicle that hasn't been moved since the snowfall you may see a correspondence on your windshield. Officers are issuing warnings just to remind people to move their vehicles.

Officials, once again, want to remind residents and business owners that they are responsible to remove snow and ice off of their sidewalks. This too is a safety issue and can be enforced under city ordinance.
