With the increased number of people dealing with the flu early this year, some parts of Ohio are facing a shortage of the drug Tamiflu.

Parts of the state including Northeast Ohio are having a hard time getting the flu prevention drug out to every one that may need it this flu season.  According to the Ohio Pharmacists Association, there's been a huge run of Tamiflu this year and they are keeping an eye on the shortages.  Luckily, Mercy Health St. Rita's says that they are still well stocked with the drug, thanks to early planning.

"As soon as we found out about the spike in the flu, we went ahead and ordered ahead and are keeping well ahead of that shortage, so we're ordering more on each order that we place each day," said Brian Latham, Director of Pharmacy for Mercy Health St. Rita's.

The Ohio Pharmacists Association says that this flu season has been one of the worst in the last decade.
