Gavin Lauck was in the Allen County Common Pleas Court Friday (2/9/18) for a motion hearing.

Lauck was allegedly involved in a 2017 kidnapping and shooting that killed Damere Oliphant, 19. He is charged with involuntary manslaughter and murder, each with separate firearms specifications. Lauck was looking to sever his counts so that each charge had a separate jury trial but Judge Jeffrey Reed denied that motion saying the jury was capable of separating proof on different charges. Lauck was also looking to suppress allegedly gruesome photographs related to the crime, which was denied by the court as well.

His jury trial is set to take place on March 27, 2018.
