Volunteers wanted for Lima's Citizen Block Patrol

The City of Lima wants you, as they are looking for residents to participate in a new program.

There is still time to be part of the new citizens block patrol. An orientation was held last month where interested citizens came out to hear about the patrol. 15 people have registered to participate and you can still sign up. You will be asked to commit twelve hours a month to help your neighborhood keeping an eye and ear out to potential problems and reporting to authorities. It's not just about patrolling but keeping informed as well.

There will be a training session on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 8 a.m. until noon. It will be held at the LACNIP Resource Center. The Lima Police Department will prepare volunteers to observe, detect, and report suspicious activity. If you are interested, go to the neighborhood support tab at the city's website and bring a filled out block patrol application the day of training.
