While Valentine's Day may be the day of love, its also a day to show your appreciation for others.

Students from Freedom Elementary School did just that when they delivered homemade Valentine's Day cards to the Lima Police Department. The students made 110 Valentines total, including candy, plus they made toys for the K-9 unit.

"We decided to do that, because the officers do so much for us every year and so we wanted to give them a Valentine's Day treat," commented Marley Perry, Freedom Third Grade Student.

The students also made cards to send down to the Westerville Police Department to show their support as that department deals with the loss of the two officers this past weekend.
