Making a difference in their community is the goal for a drive to collect needed items for a local non-profit agency.

Clients at Marimor Industries are collecting non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, and cleaning supplies for the Mary Alice House.  It's a sober living facility in Lima that helps individuals dealing with addiction to get a fresh start in life. "Celebrate Community" is the theme for Disability Awareness Month which is currently underway. The Marimor Industries' volunteer board was a driving force behind this effort to help others and say it was something they all wanted to do.

"They've given so much to us as far as employment for Marimor, people working out in the community, and other individual jobs that we have been working on, and so we thought we'd give something back to them, they deserve it," said Tony Grumblis, who helped organize the drive.

"This is not just a one time thing. The folks that attend our program are very involved in the community throughout the year, whether it's being active in their churches or service clubs, volunteering in assisted living facilities. This is just another, you know, instance for them to really take an opportunity to give back to something that means so much to them," said Terry Heminger, Marimor Industries.

You can make donations at Marimor Industries, Inc., Marimor School, and the Allen County Board of DD. Other donation locations include PPG, Scouts Club, First Baptist Church, Brown’s Plumbing and Heating, ARC, Allen County RTA, and CTL Engineering. Items will be accepted through March 28th.
