Not only is reading fundamental but it can be a whole lot of fun too.

Kindergarteners through 5th grade students at Allen East found that out Wednesday night at Camp Read-A-Lot. The event was full of activities like story time, face painting, and bouncy house. But activities were only part of the camp, as student and parents learn it’s always a good time to celebrate reading.

"We want to to do engaging fun activities so kids get excited about reading and they start that life long love of doing that. A night like tonight, involves the whole community and the parents, as well,” commented Heather Patterson, K-5 Principal, Allen East School District.
