The Elida High School chapter of the Future Farmers of America held one of their annual blood drives Thursday.

The group teamed up with the Red Cross to hold the drive at Elida High School. Thursday's drive is one of three that is held at the school throughout the year.  FFA says that their goal for the drive was to collect 50 pints of blood, and to help make their neighborhood a better place through helping others.

"You want to be proud of where you live, and by getting the word out there with the Red Cross and Elida FFA and holding this event, that’s a way to do that," said Logan Long, president of Elida FFA.

Crime Victim Services were also at the blood drive to talk about some of the services that they provide.
