Well this week is Read Across America week to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Many students of all ages here in West Central Ohio are finding creative ways to get hooked on books.

Mrs. Warnimont’s second grade class at Heritage Elementary invited family and community members to school Thursday morning to check out their art projects and tongue twisting skits they have been preparing all week in honor of the late Dr. Seuss and his birthday.

“His books are very funny. There is a lot of rhyming in his books. And the kids love it. They even wrote their own tongue twisters after reading it, and now I can’t get them to stop writing tongue twisters,” said Mrs. Warnimont, Second Grade Teacher.

Students were eager to share their knowledge about Dr. Seuss books they have been reading all week such as: “Cat in The Hat”, “Green Eggs and Ham”, “Hop on Pop” and  “Oh The Places You Will Go”. They also presented tongue twisting skits for their guests such as “Fox and Socks” and “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish”.
