The time after a tornado can be difficult for a company, with power outages stopping production, but Celina Aluminum Precision Technology (CAPT) didn't let last year's tornado stop them for long.

"As soon as we were able to return to the facility, everyone came that night, that Sunday night, all key management was there immediately," said Tom Rable,
Vice President for CAPT.  "At that time we were able to ascertain that all we could really do at that point was keep the furnaces from freezing up, and then the next day we started to work with Honda with what solutions we had."

The manufacture's main power comes from the City of Celina - and with no power, that meant that external power had to come in to help get things back on track and production to continue to avoid down time at other facilities.  The effort from employees was what helped to keep things going, and with that effort, CAPT was awarded the Challenging Spirit Award from Honda, who says that this award isn't something that given out to every one.

"We expect perfect quality and delivery from our suppliers, so it’s not an award that we hand out easily," said Darryl Sherman, Purchasing Site Leader for the Anna Honda Engine Plant.  "There are times when supply base is challenged with exceptional circumstances, and this is easily one time to recognize CAPT and their ability to easily go above and beyond our expectations to maintain our production."

Both Honda and CAPT also worked with the city to help restore power in the facility as well as helping with restoring different parts of the community after the tornado - Mayor Jeff Hazel says that all of that hard work from capt is reflective of what he saw from his citizens.

"It’s everybody working together that creates this parallel between what CAPT does to get back online, and what Celina does to get back online," said Mayor Hazel.
