The gym at Delphos Jefferson High School was a buzz with booths of all kinds at the Aware Fair.

It was put together by four different Delphos businesses as part of the Mentor3 program, which matches business mentors with students from both Delphos St. John's and Delphos Jefferson.  The fair brought in booths that had information about everything from mental health to how tobacco affects the body to physical fitness, and more, all with the hope that students will be able to learn more about some of the options they have to combat issues they may face in the future.

"There are a lot of challenges with young adults these days, and what better way than to put them together and help them realize that these challenges can be dealt with, there are options, and that’s what these people are here for today, to help them make those decisions so maybe in the future they would have a different outcome," said Erin Roberts, a mentor with Spectacular Adventures.

Students that were in the mentor group that set up the fair say that it was a lot of work, but they did learn quite a few different skills that will help them in a career someday.

"I think it’s definitely a good networking experience - you get to meet people in the community who are running the businesses, and you just really learn a lot of business skills like communication, leadership, I think the Mentors3 program is a really great networking experience," said Aaron Stant,  a senior at Delphos Jefferson High School.  "There’s a lot more to think about versus just planning it [the fair], you have to think about how you’re going to get the kids to the school, how you’re going to contact the businesses, but it’s really been a great learning experience."

Around 530 students from both Delphos schools were in attendance.
