Unemployment numbers rise in West Central Ohio in January

Most of our local counties saw a increase in the unemployment numbers at the first of the year. Most of our local counties saw a increase in the unemployment numbers at the first of the year.

Most of our local counties saw an increase in the unemployment numbers at the first of the year. 

According to the Ohio Job and Family Services,  Allen County jumped from 4.5% to 4.8% from December to January.  Mercer, Auglaize and Hancock counties remain to have the lowest unemployment rate in the state. Putnam County rose .5% in January. Hardin, Logan, Paulding, and Shelby counties jumped anywhere from .1% to .6%. Van Wert had no change from December to January.

The State of Ohio unemployment numbers rose from 4.5% to 5.1%.
