The Wapakoneta Theatre Guild continues to deliver live entertainment to the area 50 years after the group was founded.

Back in 1968, a group of people got together to fill a need for live theater and formed the guild. The locations of the performances have changed a few times over the past 50 years, but the spirit of live theater remains, as they perform a couple of shows a year to continue the tradition. For their spring performance, they are revisiting a play they did nearly two decades ago, “Butterflies Are Free”.

“I love this story. It’s about the innocence of youth and also relationships between parents, and between relationship with lovers and friends. It is just a sweet innocent story with a lot of good solid humor,” commented Christopher Butturff, Director of Butterflies are Free.

“Butterflies Are Free” runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the next two weekends, upstairs in the Wapakoneta Eagles Club. Tickets are 25 dollars for the dinner and the play or just 12 dollars for the play. For tickets, you can call 419-738-2248 or message them on the Wapakoneta Theatre Guild Facebook Page
