Ohioans stood up to child abuse by wearing blue.

April 11th  is "Wear Blue" day in the Buckeye State.  Businesses, schools, and community organizations were encouraged to get their blue on, to help promote child abuse prevention.  In 2013, the Public Children Services Association of Ohio designated the second Wednesday of the April as "Wear Blue, Child Abuse is Preventable" day.

The goal is to get people to begin talking about ways they can get involved and raise awareness about the problem of child abuse.

Allen County Children Service has taken the day a step further by sponsoring a photo contest for groups to show off their blue in creative ways.  If you and your coworkers want to show your support, email your picture to Greg Sowinski (greg.sowinski@jfs.ohio.gov) at Children Services.
