Perry students learn the dangers of drinking and driving

Friday, the SADD chapter brought in the “International Save a Life” Tour. Friday, the SADD chapter brought in the “International Save a Life” Tour.

Teenagers may think they are invincible, but the students at Perry High School learned there are consequences to their decision about texting and being drunk while driving.

Friday, the SADD chapter brought in the “International Save a Life” Tour.  The goal is to bring awareness to teens about the dangers of distracted driving.   The teens got to see first hand how their choices to drive drunk or text while driving can have on other through simulators. 

Deaijiree  Cheatom, a member of the. Perry SADD Chapter says, "They think of it as it’s not that big of a deal if I text because it probably won’t happen because most of the time it doesn’t. It might happen, it’s very possible."

Sophie Trent, a member of the. Perry SADD Chapter added, "I hope they walk away with more knowledge, not necessary for themselves maybe, but to pass on to other people.  Personally, my goal is, we can tell all of these people and what they need to do they can pass it on."

The Perry students also signed a pledge to drive safe and not text or be drunk behind the wheel.
