With April 15th landing on a Sunday, and Emancipation Day being observed in Washington D.C. Monday, taxpayers got an extra two days to file their taxes with April 17, 2018, as the deadline.

If you are waiting until the last minute to pay Uncle Sam, the U.S. Postal Service wants to remind you of a few things. Postal officials encourage you to mail early on the 17th and be sure to check the last scheduled pick up if you are dropping your returns off at a post office box. The main lobby of the Lima Post Office will be open regular hours to take your returns at the desk, closing at 5 p.m.

Also, make sure you have the correct postage and return address on your returns. On a side note, tax forms are no longer available at the post office.
