The Lima Post Office wants to remind residents of their upcoming food drive.

On Saturday, May 12th, they're asking people to put non-perishable food items near their mailbox and postal carriers will pick them up. All the food gathered will stay locally with the West Ohio Food Bank and distributed to local pantries.

"These food banks they really appreciate it, it helps get through the year. Now we had last year we brought in I think it was 21 ton that we brought in, one of our largest years and I look for this year to be even bigger," said Greg Bayes, Lima Postmaster.

Bayes says they have a cookout that afternoon to thank the carriers for their help to stamp out hunger.
