This year's recipient is Martha MacDonell, who has spent much of her life working to make the Lima community the best it can be. Over the years she has been active in Lima, from leading the Council for the Arts to opening Kibby Corners Playhouse. That work, along with her dedication to inspire the generations after her that made her the perfect candidate for the award.

"Working with Marti produced new leaders who had faith in their abilities because Martha had shown how and because Marti believed in them too," said Violet I. Meek.

MacDonell and her husband have also supported OSU Lima students for over 45 years through the City Loan and Savings Company - Metropolitan Bank Scholarship Endowment, established to help Allen County students at OSU who demonstrate a financial need.
