The children heard from a representative of the Wounded Warrior Project. Cindy Parsons became involved in the project seven years ago when her son was wounded while serving. She believes it's important to inform these young students about Wounded Warrior and what it does for these veterans coming back home where nothing will ever be the same. The students raised money all year long by donating to wear their favorite costume to school, pay to vote for their favorite team, and other activities. In all, they raised $2,500 to support the project.

The event the students paid the most to participate in? Bringing in $1,000 was the Pie in the Face! Teachers faced up to their destiny, taking it well and then turned on Principal Jason Wolke to wrap up the event.
