Kids with the Rally Point Youth Center were working to help raise money for YFC Camp Wednesday morning.

The program is called 1/2 Mile 'Til Camp, where sponsors donate 10 dollars per yard to edge a half mile of Lima walkways along Robb Park on Robb Avenue. High school students in the program will edge 50 yards each and middle school students will work on 35 yards each - with the goal of raising enough money to send 20 teens to camp this summer. The program is a win-win for both the kids that are doing the work and for the community itself.

"For kids, to go to camp costs a lot of money - for a middle schooler it’s $350 per student - and so for those that don’t have that resource coming from home, it gives them the opportunity to earn their way, have skin in the game, and do some hard work at the same time, and it’s also good for our community," said Jared Diller, director for the Rally Point Youth Center.

If you would like to donate money to help kids go to camp, you can contact the Rally Point Youth Center at (419) 229-4444.
