Class was in session Tuesday at Apollo Career Center, a class in motorcycle safety that is.

The basic riding skills class is a 16-hour course teaches students the mental and physical skills for safe motorcycle riding. Once the course is successfully completed, students will earn the BMV skill test waiver for a motorcycle endorsement. But the open road is nothing new to their instructor, Ross Holly.

"We are I think the number four state in the nation behind California, Texas, and Florida as far as motorcycle registration, meaning we have thousands of motorcycles on the road. Every year there's fatalities and accidents involved with motorcycling, and so we try to teach them skills to keep them safer or reduce the chance of injury and accidents," explained Holly.

To sign up for the next summer class you can visit http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/ or call Apollo Career Center.
