Steven Wynn visited the Veterans Civic Center on Wednesday where he spoke to community members on behalf of the Area Agency on Aging 3.

Wynn is a retired police officer and SWAT member in Nashville, Tennessee, who now travels around the country, training the public on topics such as domestic and sexual violence, specifically, against the elderly.

"I think when you see behavioral changes in the victim, if you have somebody that you've been friends with for years and they sort of disappear from your social network, if they stop coming to your church, if when check on their welfare and you hear excuses well you can't see them, and you see their health start to deteriorate, there's nothing wrong with being nosy and asking questions," explained Wynn.

Wynn says elderly abuse is a growing problem that we often don't discuss enough. He hopes to educate more people about how to identify abuse.
