In Lima City Chambers Wednesday night, a follow-up meeting to the ongoing discussion of a licensure debate.

The Chairman of the Public Works Committee, Jon Neeper, said the topic of concern is the specific language of what can and cannot be grounds for not issuing a license for food and dessert trucks or vendors. At a later date, the council will reword or eliminate part of this "Section 8."

"It segued into a discussion of the entire Section 8," said Public Works Committee Chairman Jon Neeper. "There's area in there in the licensure about billiard halls and fortune tellers that are way out of date that need to just be appealed and stricken from our codes."

Also at the meeting, discussion on noise ordinance. Officials said, right now, a venue has to get a separate permit for each event in which they wish to be louder than normal. A venue in Lima raised concern, and the law department will return to council on this issue with their recommendation at a later time. In other news, it was passed to approve the city's request to create a second Assistant Chief Deputy Auditor position and eliminate the Deputy Auditor position.
